Leonardo Papini (1989) is a Set Designer and Visual Storyteller known for creating immersive worlds at the intersection of art, fashion, and brand experience. With a background in Luxury Visual Merchandising and over 15 years of experience in spatial storytelling, Leonardo transforms concepts into striking physical environments that bring brand identities to life.
After completing his education as a Visual Marketing Designer, Leonardo began his career at Chanel, implementing visual concepts across flagship boutiques in Vienna, Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg. He later held senior positions at The KaDeWe Group and Blocher Partners, where he developed large-scale retail and window concepts that defined how space and story coexist in the world of high-end retail. During his time at Blocher Partners, he was honored with an award for excellence in visual merchandising, recognizing his innovative approach to brand expression through spatial design.
Since 2017, Leonardo has worked as an independent Set Designer, collaborating with international photographers, directors, and creative teams. His work spans editorials, advertising campaigns, film productions, and events for some of the world’s most influential luxury and fashion brands. His aesthetic combines Italian elegance with German precision - balancing structure and emotion, minimalism and drama.
For Leonardo, set design is more than composition, it is a language of atmosphere and identity, where every object and material serves to reveal a deeper brand narrative. His approach is rooted in craftsmanship, emotional intelligence, and an instinctive sense for light, proportion, and storytelling.
